Follow the menu at the top to find out about the ancestry of the Kesselman family and associated families - primarily those who went to live in London's East End.
Many of the people listed on this website left Russia or Poland at the end of the 19th Century or the start of the 20th to escape poverty and pogroms and to start a new life. Pogroms became a thing of the past for them. Poverty was another matter. The poverty and atrocious living conditions in the East End of London at that time was well documented. Many managed to survive and prosper despite these conditions.
Other family members stayed in East Europe. Few of those who remained in Poland and were alive at the start of WW2 survived the Holocaust.
A page devoted to some of them will appear soon.
An attempt has been made to document the frequent changes of surnames and given names, as well as spelling variations.
Some false trails have been documented as an example of how easy it is to follow the wrong path when working with complex charts referring to matters a long way distant in both time and place.
